Descrição
About this project Animals never evolved to coexist with high-speed motor vehicles. Report your roadkill sightings to help identify high risk areas for wildlife! Project goal Identify problem spots where there are high numbers of collisions with wildlife. What participants do: Record the time, location, and species of roadkill you observe. Why roadkill? Animals never evolved to coexist with high-speed motor vehicles. Highways can alter habitat and isolate populations, prevent wildlife from moving freely, and place an undue mortality pressure on populations. Tracking the incidence of collisions with animals can help identify problem spots where steps can be taken to mitigate roadkill risk. How to participate: Note when and where you see roadkill. Share your observations here on Anecdata.org or using the Anecdata mobile app!
This IPT archives the data and thus serves as the data repository. The data and resource metadata are available for download in the downloads section. The versions table lists other versions of the resource that have been made publicly available and allows tracking changes made to the resource over time.

Dados Sobre o Projeto
Anecdata is a free online citizen science platform developed by the Community Lab at the MDI Biological Laboratory in Bar Harbor, Maine. Anecdata is used by hundreds of individuals and organizations to gather and access citizen science observations and provides a platform to easily collect, manage, and share their citizen science data. How Anecdata works: Project managers create projects, creating datasheets that participants fill out to share their observations. Participants join projects and use the Anecdata website or mobile app to share their observations with the project. Project data is now available for anyone to view and download!
