Descrição

iMapInvasives is an on-line, GIS-based data management system used to assist citizen scientists and natural resource professionals working to protect our natural resources from the threat of invasive species. This subset of iMapInvasives data includes all confirmed invasive plant records from New York State with permission to distribute, including historical records. The majority of the records are based on exact observation information, but approximately 1,000 records are checklist data, without observation dates.

Métodos de Amostragem

Sampling procedures vary with each contributing dataset.

Área de Estudo Study extent (temporal and frequency of occurrence) varies with each contributing dataset.
Controle de Qualidade QA/QC requirements for individual datasets vary according to the contributor. Bulk data sets from partner organizations are readily incorporated by the iMapInvasives Information Manager as it is assumed the contributor has conducted an internal QA/QC process. iMapInvasives users entering their own data are strongly encouraged to include photos for verification, and records with insufficient data to verify are not included in this set. Outliers and difficult-to-ID species are vetted by experts before being approved for inclusion.
