Descrição
About this project We are looking for sightings of whales and marine debris in the Gulf of Maine, to expand our knowledge about species distribution and human impacts. https://www.blueoceansociety.org/ Project goal Study the distribution of whales in the Gulf of Maine and learn about human impacts. What participants do: Report sightings and photos of whales and marine debris in the Gulf of Maine Since the late 1990s, Blue Ocean Society for Marine Conservation has been studying whales and other marine life in the Gulf of Maine. We are looking for your help to provide more eyes on the water, so that we can better track the distribution and behavior of whales over time. We are also looking for information on litter spotted at sea so that we can work to prevent future pollution. Thank you for your help!
This IPT archives the data and thus serves as the data repository. The data and resource metadata are available for download in the downloads section. The versions table lists other versions of the resource that have been made publicly available and allows tracking changes made to the resource over time.

Dados Sobre o Projeto
Anecdata is a free online citizen science platform developed by the Community Lab at the MDI Biological Laboratory in Bar Harbor, Maine. Anecdata is used by hundreds of individuals and organizations to gather and access citizen science observations and provides a platform to easily collect, manage, and share their citizen science data. How Anecdata works: Project managers create projects, creating datasheets that participants fill out to share their observations.
