Описание

Organization: The Wetlands Conservancy and Friends Where to participate: Oregon, USA Anyone can join! Project started 2018 About this project This project consists of volunteer community science surveys of streams and wetlands everywhere, to determine where beavers are building dams! Beavers are actively helping us restore ecosystems and battle climate change, but we need to know more about their whereabouts to help maximize beneficial impacts. Project goal This project seeks to record the presence of beaver dams to help us better manage water, vegetation, and wildlife. This project consists of volunteer community science surveys of streams and wetlands in the Portland Metro area (and now, BEYOND!) to determine if beavers are active! Surveys will usually be completed in late summer and through fall, when water levels are low. Contact The Wetlands Conservancy to participate.

Данные проекта

Anecdata is a free online citizen science platform developed by the Community Lab at the MDI Biological Laboratory in Bar Harbor, Maine. Anecdata is used by hundreds of individuals and organizations to gather and access citizen science observations and provides a platform to easily collect, manage, and share their citizen science data. How Anecdata works: Project managers create projects, creating datasheets that participants fill out to share their observations. Participants join projects and use the Anecdata website or mobile app to share their observations with the project. Project data is now available for anyone to view and download!
