            <para>This dataset contains georeferenced field observations of North American red squirrels (Tamiasciurus hudsonicus, taxonomic serial number TSN 180166) collected in Interior Alaska during 2020–2021. Records include multi-year observations of squirrel presence, habitat descriptions, squirrel midden detections, visual and acoustic detection methods, geographic coordinates, and timestamps obtained during opportunistic field surveys. The dataset contributes to regional biodiversity monitoring and published research and is part of a larger research effort by the authors to study squirrel conservation and management in Alaska and beyond. In addition to ongoing research, it can support ecological studies on species distribution, habitat use, and ecosystem health in Interior Alaska.</para>
